Any legitimate company can and will wait for YOU to contact Them.

Common Scams from 2026

• Microsoft called saying my computer was locked and IP address was being used. 

• I paid a lot of money for a whole computer protection program and now they want thousands of dollars to keep me protected.

• I got a purchase notification for something I didn't order.

• McAfee pop-up said I needed protection and that I had dangerous viruses.

• There was a Microsoft Security Alert that wouldn't close. It was loud - telling me to call an 800 Number.

• A Security Company called saying my information was being used and I had to pay the fines.

• Social Security called me about my benefits.

• My bank called to verify my account details and I was at risk.

• My friend on FaceBook sent me a link and now my accounts are locked out.

• I installed a program, and now someone is using my computer and looking at my files.

• There was an email from someone trying to blackmail me into paying them for my data.

• I am getting phone calls from debt collectors that I don't recognise.
